From cat
I'm Cat - well, actually Katja but because I'm a very cuddly person and probably because I needed a lot of attention (and getting my back stroked) my family decided to call me Cat.
I grew up in the middle of nowhere in the beautiful south of Germany in a little tiny town called Bernloch. It's one of those where everyone is up to date with the lives of everyone else living there!
In my late teens I fell in love with techno music, especially the more experimental side of it. I went to lots of parties and on one of those I met my Ex Gomez and my now boyfriend Chris.
Having been very bored in Bernloch I soon did a runner and moved to Tuebingen - little cute university town. There was too much nightlife for me *lol* and so I decided to move to Stuttgart. I moved into a nice flat with my then best friend Yvonne. The arrangement didn't quite work out and so it was back to Mum's again.... ;-)
I did my professional training in a Photoshop in Reutlingen. My boss decided to send me up the the far North for my vocational school and I ended up in Kiel at the East Sea. That's where I met Marion, my now bestest friend! We soon became beste friends and I spent the next couple of years sitting at her place every evening and laughing my head of.
In 1999 I got together with my Chris - the catch was that he was living in London... so we spent the following two years financing British Airways and British Midland. I decided to take the chance and move to London in August 2000. I had a great Leaving-Do and once here in London I noticed how much I miss my friends.
But... I had no time to be sad. My first friends were Chris ex-employees - we were actually living in the back of the office. We lived on the 5th floor of an old warehouse building and they build the offices in the front of the floor and 3 bedrooms in the back. I then found a job and met my first 'own' friends. Nick was my teamleader and turned out to be a very good friend as well.
After working in the company for almost a year I decided it's time to move on. But first we went on holiday for a motorbike tour through North Spain and Portugal. Back in London I found myself a job as a receptionist in a IT recruitment agency. Soon all my collegues where my friends as well and we had some wild nights out. Unfortunately, I was made redundant due to work decrease - caused by 9/11. So, in the summer again, I was a memeber of the unemployed community and we went on a short holiday to Barcelona in 2002 to visit a friend, Mate.
Back in the Uk, it was jobhunt-time - again... *sigh* I found a contract job for a dept recovery company. Have to say not the most exciting job - very close to accounts I guess! ;-) And with the job came new friends. Didn't like the job and was soon job-hunting again. Same day I left I got a new job at Corbis - and also a very good friend, Maria. My job is to prepare images for print and after all very exciting *LOL* previous jobs I had in London so far I actually saw some hope!!! Looking at images the whole day makes the time pass by very quickly. Oops.. already 3pm... never had that before!
Last year we went for another motorbike tour through France - and it was fantastic! We were very lucky and missed the big storm - almost...;-) (Un-)fortunately Chris company wasn't doing very well and soon it was only Chris left. In December 2003 we decided it's time for a change and move to Barcelona.
Chris found us a very nice flat in the center and my diary will start from Day 1 in Barcelona..... enjoy!
